Cabaret Gourmet 2013 is in the books!
Last night, at The Play Company’s annual benefit gala, we sampled some of the most mouth-watering food NYC has to offer. There were savory tastings from August, Chef Samira, Market Table, Mehtaphor, and Swine. Kyotofu, Gramercy Tavern, and Valhrona Chocolates sweetened things up.
Everyone raved about the cocktails wizard mixologist Dale DeGroff whipped up with with Del Maguey mezcal, Tuthilltown gin (it’s summer in our minds, after all), and Dale’s own Pimento Aromatic Bitters. The Red Tail Ridge wines flew off the bar, and Pushcart Coffee went so well with dessert.
But amidst the joyful indulgence, the room went silent for the soulful stylings of two unforgettable Tony-nominated Broadway stars, Daniel Breaker (also our emcee) and De’Adre Aziza.
The night was a huge success, thanks in large part to enthusiastic support from our board, staff, and volunteers; participating chefs and their restaurants; and of course all of the fantastic Playco family who stepped out in support of our award-winning line-up of international theatre.
