In the kitchen, our host tells her story about falling in love with Ashraf, a Syrian exile. When he vanishes, she impulsively trails him to the homeland she has never known. As the meal comes together and then falls apart, we hear the gripping stories of brutality, grace, and resilience from the Syrian refugees she met along the way.
