The Play Company, a small not-for-profit Obie Award-winning off-Broadway theatre company, seeks interns to join our team. The Play Company, now in its 14th season, produces and develops adventurous plays from around the world. Interns work closely with the Founding and Executive Producers, gaining valuable first-hand knowledge of what is involved in running a professional, independent theatre company in New York.

PlayCo is now seeking a student or recent graduate who is interested in learning about fundraising, special event planning and other critical components to building a career in the arts.
The best candidate for this position is a proactive self-starter with the willingness to learn. Applicants must have excellent writing and organizational skills and an ability to follow through on projects.

ARTISTIC / PRODUCING INTERN
If you are an aspiring creative producer or theatre manager, want to learn how to find material and put together a production, PlayCo’s Artistic/Producing internship is the ideal opportunity for you! A professional theatre company that’s small enough to give its interns the opportunity to witness and participate in every step and department of producing, The Play Company has successfully produced critically-acclaimed plays for 14 years in New York City, and recently, abroad. The ideal candidate for this position is a proactive self-starter with the ability to think strategically and artistically. Applicants must be responsible, detail-oriented individuals with superior time-management skills, excellent writing and organizational skills and a solid knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Accounting knowledge a plus. Academic credit available if needed. Monthly Unlimited Metro Card provided with a commitment of 20+ hours per week.
