What is Play Pen?

  In light of the deep divisions reflected in conflicts around the world today, we at The Play Company found ourselves looking for new ways to bring our community together through artistic expression.  In the spirit of this idea, we created Play Pen, an ongoing project that invites artists to respond to political and cultural events in their own respective mediums.

We are very proud to premiere Play Pen with a post from Play Co. alum, director Davis McCallum. Davis directed Andy Bragen's play This is My Office in our 2013-14 season, and is currently the Artistic Director at the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival. The following was originally written for the members of his theater, but we felt that his sentiment is reflected in Play Co.'s vision as well. Read what he had to say below:
