Made In Poland

by Przemyslaw Wojcieszek
Directed by Jackson Gay

A rebellious young man searches for guidance and authority in the new, post-communist Poland, challenging his priest, his teacher, his mother and even local gangsters to show him the way. In the end, love saves the day.
This production was part of the MADE IN POLAND Festival, presented by 59E59 Theaters and the Polish Cultural Institute, New York.

“Jackson Gay’s direction may have fewer pyrotechnics than that of some of his contemporaries, but she has utterly mastered the finicky art of lucidly staging an ambiguous new play.”

“The play is fresh and engagingly complex, a compelling comic portrait of one man’s vision of his people and their passions.”
